  • The state flags have four rows of lock stitching with back stitch reinforcements.

Pennsylvania Governor Corbett ordered all Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol Complex and at Commonwealth facilities in Montgomery County lowered to half-staff immediately, Monday, June 02, 2014 until further notice in honor of William F. McGuigan, a Turnpike employee who died while performing duties on Sunday morning. All individuals are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Pennsylvania Governor Corbett has ordered  flags to half staff at the Capitol Complex and at Commonwealth facilities in Allegheny County on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in honor of United States Air Force Captain Sean M. Ruane who died in a helicopter crash on January 7, 2014. All individuals are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Pennsylvania Governor Corbett has ordered all Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at Commonwealth facilities statewide lowered to half-staff immediately, Friday, September 06, 2013 in honor of State Representative Dick L. Hess who passed away on September 6, 2013, at the age of 74. Representative Hess was elected in 1987, representing Fulton County, as well as portions of Bedford and Huntingdon Counties.

Pennsylvania Governor Corbett has ordered all Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at Commonwealth facilities in Luzerne County to be flown at half staff immediately Wednesday, February 27, 2013, until further notice in honor of Officer Eric Williams, a Correctional Officer who was killed while performing his duties at Canaan Federal Penitentiary on Monday evening.
