Are your flags made in the USA?
Yes all of our flags are made in the USA. We sell only FMAA made United States Flags.

FMAA, the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, is an organization made up of several of the country’s leading flag makers who have crafted a set of specifications that will guarantee and highlight the domestic sourcing and manufacture of US flags. This rectangular logo and the oval certification seal are your assurances that this product has been made in the USA of materials that are domestic in origin and that all processes in every step of the US flag’s manufacture were completed in USA facilities with USA labor. Spread the word. Tell your friends to look for the FMAA logo and/or seal to ensure that they are purchasing a US made American flag.

What size flag should is appropriate for my flagpole?
The size of flag is dependant on the size of the flagpole. For porch mount flagpoles the 3 x 5 Ft flag is the most common. For in-ground flagpoles the general rule of thumb is that the height of the flag should be 1/5th the height of the flagpole. For example take a 25 ft high pole – 1/5th of the 25 ft leaves 5 ft. So that would carry a 5 x 8 ft flag.

Please be aware of the size of flag that is recommended for your flagpole. Flying a larger flag than is recommended by the manufacturer may result in damage to the flagpole.

Common size range chart
15’          3’x5’
20’          3’x5’-     4’x6’
25’          4’x6’ –   5’x8’

40’          6’x10’ – 10’x15’
45’          8’x12’ – 10’x15’
50’          10’x15’ -12’x18’
60’          10’x15’-                15’x25’
70’          12’x18’ – 20’x 30’

Can I fly two flags from the same pole?
Yes, you can fly two flags from the same flagpole. You just need to have two sets of snap hooks, and they can be on the same rope or halyard. The United States flag will always go on top. Typically you leave approximately one foot of space between the United States flag and the flag underneath.

How long will my flag last?
There is no exact answer to that question. The life expectancy of a flag will depend on the elements that it is exposed to. Regardless of fabric type and construction features, flags sooner or later will succumb to the elements. Sun, rain, wind, ice, and snow all weaken flag fabrics and threads.
Many of our customers report that by taking their flag down during the windiest 5% of the days they double the life expectancy of their flag.
See our one year colorfast guarantee by clicking here.
The U.S. Government generally expects a nylon flag to last approximately 90 days based on daily usage from sunrise to sunset but not during periods of inclement weather.

Do your products have a warranty?
American Flagpole & Flag Co. warrants that its products will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one year from the date of shipment by American Flagpole & Flag Co. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, defects caused by improper installation, overloading, accident, misuse, neglect, or alteration or modification.
United States Flag Warranty
All of our United States Flags are covered by Annin’s One Year Colorfast Guarantee. Annin & Co. guarantees that your US flag will remain colorfast* and will not change colors* for a period up to 1 year from the date of purchase. This guarantee applies only to dyes and colors on US Flags. This guarantee specifically excludes fabric tears and fraying as high winds and extreme temperatures vary due to climate and location and are beyond Annin’s control. Torn flags have exceeded their useful life and are not covered under this guarantee.
Annin & Co. will replace any covered US flag that fails to remain colorfast through normal exposure to sun and weather during the guarantee period.
* Colorfast referes to colors retaining the base color. Reds will remain red and not become orange. Blues will not fade to purples. Some color lightening and fading due to sun exposure is natural and will not effect the flag’s usefulness and is not covered under this guarantee.

When will I get my order?
We work very hard to process your order as quickly as possible. Most merchandise is in stock and will arrive within one week. Flagpoles ship via freight truck which due to the nature of the merchandise and shipping routes does take longer. Flagpoles with an anodized finish typically need to be shipped out for the anodization to be applied, thus the lead time is typically three to four weeks.

Does American Flagpole & Flag Co. have volume discounts?
Yes, we offer volume discounts please call us at 1 (800) 426-6235 to discuss.

How do I select a flagpole size?
The appropriate size flagpole for your application depends on how you want to present your flag. There is no right or wrong answer to this question; it is a matter of taste. Often times you want the flagpole to be the focal point of the landscape – then you will want it as large as possible. Many times you will want the flagpole to blend in with the structure and the landscape.  You also want to take into consideration the wind conditions in your area, make sure the flagpole you select will stand up to the winds that your area is subject to.
The key thing to remember is that you want to stay away from power lines, trees, other flagpoles, buildings and any other structure that may interfere with the flag. You not only want to take into consideration the height of the pole, but also the size of the flag you plan on flying. Also be sure that you will be able to fly the flag without hitting any structure when flying the flag at half-staff.
A quick and inexpensive way to get a visual feel for the height of the pole is to take a kite string and attach it to a helium filled balloon. Raise the balloon in the area you were considering flying the flag, and measure how much string is out when you get it to the desired height.
